everything can be rad all of the time

Time has recently robbed me of my thoughts once again.  Not in any specific manner, I'm not qualmed by it or regretting the way its been spent, it's just demanding attention and it's sick.   Last year was a struggle against time being something that is more than clock-related and it qualmed me deep, it qualmed everything I did and thought and I was worrying because felt like I could be spending it poorly yet I lacked the motivation to do anything about it so i wallowed.  I was stabilised by the return of a friend at the very beginning of this year, I then went on a trip to america for the most part of Jan and now i feel like lamb again, i need a new shepherd..
Time is casj/people die from fridges regularly and life is now nice because I'm happily oblivious to it's tears once again and it's this progression that's currently bringing me back.

There's plenty of time for glory and little time for not glory and this notion has been motivating me lately.. obviously not in the sense of this blog as I managed to go an entire 3 week photo trip in which I made one misc post...   I felt like I'd lost my blog and it comes from this blog being the only representation of my photos and I'd come to this stupid conclusion that this was somehow important which directly affected my feels towards this blog.  But i forgot those tears,  It's time to glory.  My website is being made [for max pro], i'm stoked, mostly i am excited and i get to go overseas again in a couple of weeks.

Everything is rad and i'd somehow forgotten that, just sometimes I need to remind myself to chase it when it runs to the hills.

Here are some phots that I uploaded to my flickr a while back, I intended to use them in posts that were time-relevant but we've discuss this so no need to dwell.

I recall that the town down there is Santa Barbara, we hung there for 2 days on the drive up to SanFran..  Mostly lurking but also shooting James on a few hills that were delicately mind-blowing.  I may have mentioned last post about this leg but it was a 4 day journey from skatehouse up to norcal (Petaluma) with 2 dgm brethren (OSL + thomas trnka) james kelly and his car; the American Dream.

atop ECC we shared some views and i lost my shit due to the ridiculous landscape, the hill below and the acceptance of dream-attainment.... this stoke didn't wear off until what feels like perhaps not even yet....  It was cold up there, the puddles were straddled by ice and the wind was intense.. we bailed quickly in order to bask in bitumen's body-warming properties + to play skateboards.

mid-lurk, hanging out for tyler and a chap whose name i've now forget, got some more shots here, it was fun.  The tiny part of california that i saw confirms my ideals.

turns out NZ is in 6 days. yeeeow.  I feel in control and now im relaxed again, it's nice.  bone deep depths.

this one is old, it's from the keira/bathurst trip in april last year...  i post this as a reminder, i'm 95% done and i need to rid myself of them all, i might e-book that scenario but we'll see.  i just want them gone.

depths

next level.   I'm trying to make a relatively chronological recount of this trip so im going to post photos from earlier in the trip.  Since these photos, which we basked in whilst trekking the opposite ridge to Tuna, the greatest skate run ever, so we could bro out and take some epic photos.  The trek was dope, we trekked two days in a row, once from the top and once from the bottom, im still stoked.  The views were epic!  Its strange to have seen the place so many times in videos and photos and then to be on it and then to see if from ages away, the full presentation.. skating it was epic!!

Since then we've made our way up the coast through Santa Barbara and BigSur, we trekked up a HUGE mountain in BigSur but we saw not any mountain lions.  It was high, about 1.5kms above the sea (which was right underneath :D )  but i shot all that on film, as with much of this trip. yeeeeeow!!!!!

I'm stoking more and more, i was numb to the stoke at the beginning, i couldnt really handle it... but now it's much more casual...  i got to skate under the sunset (and moonlight by the time we got to the bottom) from Berkeley over with SanFran in the background, it was dope.  the skating was too.  San Fran is sick.  California is an epic place, I feel like this state has so so so much to offer, on all fronts of stoke attainment.  I wanna go now, I've never had so much attainable stoke on hand.

2013

shades of purple mainly but if I understood the rest I'm sure I'd point out their presence.  As you may have read, 2012 has been a year of furious uncertainty but I've been chasing things and that's put my mind at ease for the most part.  What I've been chasing is the dream of photo-related work which involves documentary of things that I'd happily do for free and could happily immerse myself in for the foreseeable future.  I like my time and I love using it well so I'm constantly assessing avenues of preach which is why I've wholly pursued longboarding (because it's the greatest activity i've ever done plus it's filled with people I'd happily spend my last moments with.)  I was lucky enough to meet some rad skaters this year and through them I managed to land myself in a collective of dudes whom I've the utmost respect for (also varying levels of man-crush) and can't wait to complete the immersion.  DGM is the particular situation I'm talking about and it's a visual concept relating to longboarding, it'll be in print but not a typical magazine, engaging but not forcibly involving and will ideally represent the side of the sport that isn't influenced by sponsors, contracts and marketing..  Because those are the bad bits (not at all bad, just comparatively sub-ideal) My alacrity for this potential future is comforting.  Hard times spent well.

DGM

these are photos of mine that we've used for webcontent/casj times.   I'm heading to California to meet them all in a fortnight which is luda.. I've been to quite a few places this year but not to the USA and it's the one place that I REALLY want to visit.  I'm not there for long but I'll see enough to assess their dairy situation which directly effects the plausibility of future trips.

although i have these plans which i think are epic, i could happily retire tomorrow and enter full-time skate bum mode.  today/last night myself, chad, josh and nate (this rad dude that moved here from colorado) drove 6 hours to the 2nd most beautiful thing on this planet and i can't/don't want to describe how good it was.  here are some go-pro grabs (on my helmet) of the 9 minute run that took us through rainforest, over 2 waterfalls and inside trucks.

and here's a photo that isn't skateboarding.  I shot this in Salta, Argentina.
My camera skills were quite sneaky at the time so I guess I didn't fit in
