going through photos with strange lines that somehow appear to be moving and some strange shadow features is very difficult! but the worst bit is the 800px wide resolution, ignoring the verticle bands of crazy softness! i think this qualm needs to become a charm as soon as possible! unfortunately due to my lack of tooth and work commitments i'm not sure when i'll have the time to git r don.

i'm currently getting smacked by some serious influenza! maybe this will mean time for some serious hack and slashing of my photo backlog or maybe i'll continue feeling sorry for myself and lying in bed. the sucky bit is that i really need to work as my funds have been attacked by rego, snow trip and bills.

considerable silly times

although leaving the snow a day early was a move i should regret/be annoyed about, i feel more content right now that i thought was previously attainable! Mitch and I did 4200kms, slept for 25 hours, boarded for 19 hours and (i) shot the slopes for 1.5 hours over the last over the last 80 hours of our existence. I'm going to try my best to get through some of the photos of the trip tomorrow but I'm not sure how that's going to pan out as I've got no access to my funds and my car is awol.

i'm bidding farewell to this crazy life and saying hello to a road trip filled with so much glory i'll need to invent a new word to portray just how good it will be. It will be so polmatic that i won't even know what i mean when i talk about it. It will be so relampic that I'm going to need multi-giga-bits to cover the polmaticness of mitch and i's trip to the snow this coming week.

spontaneity is the name and doing it is the game.

we're heading off after work on sunday and driving down for slope times on monday through thursday stopping only for salmon and massages before returning at some stage on thursday or friday or both.


i'm very excited for both the boarding and snow and also the potential waves this weekend but mostly the trip and the photos.





i'm also very excited to get away from club photos such as the ones below from the ever avoided mono... judging from the photos i assume most people had a good night but my stupification can't confirm this so I'm going to go with probably.


i've also decided i'm not going to buy anything (camera gear) until i go fullframe so that i can justify buying a wide angle lens as right now- the crop frame nikon is the only option and it's over a grand which is a huge dent on say a d700.....

i'm not going down the 3rd party road as both the sigma and tokina are shit at night (the sigma is great in the day) as they can't get their gears sorted in clubs leaving me with tearfully out of focus shots more often than not- and for once i do believe that it's the gear and not the shooter as i've shot thousands and thousands of club photos on my $150 kit lens and received bullshit clarity&sharp-sharp in 95% of shots.

I figure i've already dedicated my summer surfing times to this new avenue of smiles. Tom and I plan on getting creative.

Saturday commence!

up in qualms

once again i realise that i need more spare time, simple! it's not that i don't love shooting stuff for people, getting my name out and all that jazz but I'm definitely in no rush to try and get a real job with photo-making. So i figure that i must take it slow, continue shooting the way i have been with the goal of, hopefully one day down the road, having the skills to consistently produce images of a professional standard. At which point i'll be smiling much more than i am now because getting shit all for my clay doesn't make me smile. but unfortunately for most parties conisdered i can no longer rant as i must be off to a certain infamous nightclub to take photos of it's certainly fiendish patrons.


I find posting general photos of nothing with no major glory very relaxing! and it's only until the last few months that I've realised that i don't think of it as a 'hey yeah I've achieved something by uploading 19440000 pixels worth of light that fell onto my cmos and captured something we see everyday' but 'yeah maybe someone will smile' and 'sick! now i can delete the originals, restoring 64.8mb worth of memory back to my harddrive, which in-turn will allow for potentially better photos.' so in a bid to bolster a smile onto tonight's dial here are some more general photos

on the weekend young charlie and i made our way down to the lismore for some fun times filled with smiles and other glorious actions. We stayed at the Lismore City Motor Inn which turned out to definitely get the job done.......

you know what the best thing about taking charlie along is? she rants about our weekend actions on her blog so i figure that, when in a mood like this (one that does not promote my blog writing ability) i can just link you to her page. i'm heading down south this weekend with corporal shires for some n.s.w fun times! I'll also be scoring a mat session at lennox with mark Thomson! this man needs no bio. shame its going to be a tearful onshore 1 foot :( however hopefully shots will be a plenty! that's about it for now. but I'll be back, surely smiling, on sunday/monday to bring what will maybe be some photobased glory times. the following few photos were from a previous trip to the same area we shall be venturing into this weekend. also, i've come to the conclusion that my skate shots are pretty lame.
