The Flood- wednesday arvo winching

i got a call from big al, just before heading out for the Newstead adventure, that he and cam were keen to have a shred at Coorparoo skate park, which had gone under in the high tide. The timing worked out great! i would've loved to have shot more around Newstead but i wouldn't have missed this for many things! We headed over around 5 and were tear'd from the get go thanks to a wiggidy winch..

to be honest, we got pretty skunked. I couldn't get my shots right, the water wasn't high enough for the main box or the hip (the two glory features of this park), the water was draining out of the park rapidly and the winch was being lame. But ontop of all of this, i had the most amount of fun! it was such a strange thing to be apart of and i could've come away with no shots and still have been smiling like i was. This sport is insanely fun, i've only shot it 3 times and all 3 sessions rate very highly on my smile chart.

we finally had the winch going to a relatively respectable speed by around 6:30 which was a tad lame as i was losing colour and light fast! I had two flashes but could only trigger one :/ ontop of this and our time related qualms it became apparent that these boards aren't designed for sliding on concrete and performed accordingly...
